Description
This silverpoint drawing shows Elsa Lanchester in her famous role as the Bride of Frankenstein. She stared together with Boris Karloff as the Monster in the same-named Universal Pictures movie. James Whale directed the movie first screened in 1935.
I have always had a love for the old universal horror movies since I was a child. Around the age of nine or ten I drew my first Karloff creature. For this drawing I used the silverpoint technique to draw the image on gessoed Watercolour paper. To finish the piece I achieve the colouring with a watercolour wash.
