About Treebods and Applings

Today I want to share with you all I know about Treebods and Applings.

Applings are a very old species of Treebod that live in the valleys and meadows of Globits-Bung. Although Treebods resemble trees, they can move from place to place and are also able to speak to each other. Since their language is very complicated not many people can understand it. Normally the Treebods stay in the same location, sometimes for many years. However, they can uproot and move to another spot if needed.

Some Treebods will bear applelike fruit. Upon closer inspection these “apples” have little arms and legs and even faces. I call them Applings.

When ripe they drop down to the ground and scurry off to find a nice, sunny spot to root and grow into the next generation of Treebods.

One of the few people that can translate the Treebod language is the hermit and part-time wizard Dennis the Nice. As an expert on the animals and plants of Globits-Bung Dennis has written many a book on the subject.

These are some early sketches for a children’s book about the adventures of a little girl named Ant and her best friend Nice Dennis the part-time wizard.

Do you like the Applings or Nice Dennis the part-time wizard? You can order your own artwork today. For the Applings artwork I used ink, water-colours and pencil on paper. The piece showing Nice Dennis the part-time wizard was created with a silverpoint pencil on board.

The original artwork comes matted in frame and is ready to hang. For pricing and shipping details contact me today.
